Zusammenfassung

Blutzuckerselbstkontrolle trägt zum integrierten Management des Diabetes Mellitus bei. Sie sollte für alle Patienten mit Typ 1 und Typ 2 Diabetes zur Verfügung stehen. Die Blutzuckerselbstkontrolle erhöht die Patientensicherheit, die Lebensqualität und verbessert die Blutzuckerkontrolle. Der vorliegende Artikel stellt die Behandlungsvorschläge der österreichischen Diabetesgesellschaft zum Einsatz der Blutzuckerselbstkontrolle dar.
