Zusammenfassung

Die Akupunktur kann in der Schwangerschaft, unter der Geburt oder im Wochenbett eingesetzt werden und eine analgetische, entspannende, psychisch beruhigende und harmonisierende Wirkung entfalten. Die Erfolge dieser Methode in der Schmerztherapie sind bekannt. Neben oder zusätzlich zu den Methoden der modernen Schulmedizin wünschen Schwangere häufig eine alternative Regulationsmöglichkeit. Bei der Körper- oder Ohr-Akupunktur können die Akupunkturpunkte mit Metallnadeln, Moxibustion, Laserlicht oder Elektrostimulation unterschiedlich stimuliert oder sediert werden. Zu den Anwendungsbereichen in der Geburtshilfe zählen unter anderem die Hyperemesis gravidarum, Suchterkrankungen, Rücken-, Ischias- oder Kopfschmerzen, das Karpaltunnelsyndrom, die Geburtsvorbereitung und Schmerzbehandlung unter der Geburt, genauso wie die verzögerte Plazentalösung, Angst und Milchstau. Akupunktur sollte durch ausgebildete Hebammen oder Ärzte durchgeführt werden.
