Posttraumatische Belastungsstörungen

Abstract

Kindheitstraumata gehören zu den Hauptursachen chronischer psychischer und körperlicher Störungen. Posttraumatische Belastungsstörungen können schon bei Kindern und Jugendlichen auftreten, oft mit einer entwicklungstypischen Ausgestaltung und begleitet von komorbiden Störungen. Die evidenzbasierte Diagnostik und Behandlung von betroffenen Kindern und Jugendlichen umfasst eine systematische Exploration möglicher traumatischer Lebenserfahrungen, eine gründliche klinische Diagnostik zur Abgrenzung der posttraumatischen Stresssymptome und anderer begleitender Störungen, sowie die Durchführung einer traumafokussierten Psychotherapie. Bislang unterversorgte Kinder und Jugendliche aus Risikogruppen, wie z. B. Heimkinder, Pflegekinder und lebensbedrohlich erkrankte und verletzte Kinder, könnten durch eine bessere interdisziplinäre Versorgung rechtzeitiger einer evidenzbasierten Traumatherapie zugeführt werden.


Posttraumatic stress disorders

Exposure to traumatic events during childhood and adolescence is one of the most significant causes of chronic mental and physical disorders. Posttraumatic stress disorder can occur during childhood and adolescence, often with age-specific manifestations and together with a variety of comorbid emotional and behavioral symptoms. Evidence-based interventions comprise systematic clinical assessment of the individual trauma history, posttraumatic stress symptoms, and other mental health problems, and trauma-focused psychotherapy. So far under-served minors from high-risk populations, such as children and adolescents in institutional or foster care and children with medical trauma, can be reached out for by collaborative interdisciplinary care, including referrals to evidence-based trauma-focused therapy.
