Die Transplantationschirurgie der Hornhaut durchläuft Zeiten dramatischen Wandels [1], [2]. Während in den letzten 100 Jahren der Komplettaustausch der Hornhaut unabhängig vom Primärschaden die Standardtherapie war, entwickelt sich das Feld in Richtung eines selektiven Ersatzes von erkranktem Gewebe an der Hornhaut. Lamelläre Transplantationsverfahren wie die DALK (Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty), die DMEK (Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty) und die DSAEK (Descemet Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty) sind weltweit auf dem Vormarsch.
