EUROSON School Romania - Administrative Report

The Euroson School Breast Ultrasound Course was organised in the Aula Magna of the university of Medicine and Pharmacy, Craiova, Romania, on September 19-20th, 2004, by the Romanian Ultrasound Society of Medicine and Biology, the Romanian Society of Radiology and Medical Imaging, the Romanian Society of Medical Oncology and by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Craiova. The Course had 87 participants and 10 sponsors.
The syllabus of the Euroson School Breast Ultrasound Course was produced one month earlier and was offered free to all the participants. The syllabus had as editors Florinel Badulescu, Professor of Oncology, Andrei Bondari, Professor of Radiology and Medical Imaging, and Viorela Enachescu, Associate Professor of General Medicine and Ultrasound. The participants also had a special congress bag with promotional and writing materials.
The course organisation was assured by the Organising Committee which guaranteed all specialised activities such as, registration and accomodation, translation, travel and catering.
From EFSUMB the Course had as observers 2 speakers in the person of Dr. Dominique Amy and Dr. Kazimierz Szopinski. The target level of education was advanced with presentations fully illustrated by images.
At the end of all lectures, each day of the course, in the afternoon, the participants attended to hands-on workshops (interactive and instructive dedicated to practical applications). A written test was given to the participants at the end of the course. All the participants passed the test (their scores were > 70%) and were awarded a certificate of achievement.
The sponsors helped us to offer a social programme to the participants throughout the course.
