Publication History

Publication Date:
07 February 2012 (online)

Welcome to the start of another year with Seminars in Thrombosis & Hemostasis (STH). This is a year in which we are celebrating both the old and the new. This is my fourth year as Editor in Chief, and my seventh year of editorial association with this journal, having previously served as a Regional Editor. Although many of our “old” associate editors are also staying on, we have expanded and restructured the editorial team a little as well. Marcel Levi will continue in his current role as a Senior Editor of this journal. However, because of his many other editorial responsibilities, Craig M. Kessler has decided to step down as a Senior Editor, and instead will stay on as an Associate Editor. Two of our previous Associate Editors, Catherine P. M. Hayward and Hau C. Kwaan, have agreed to take on the more arduous roles of Senior Editors. Accordingly, I would like to thank these four colleagues for their past and their future contributions to this journal. I would also like to thank Dr. Adam Cuker, one of the recent Young Investigator Award winners,[1] for agreeing to join us as an Associate Editor. Adam has a very impressive publication record for his as yet relatively short career. We hope his association with this journal continues to inspire his future work in this field.

I will also take this opportunity to thank Xenia Golovchenko, the previous Production Editor for Thieme Medical Publishers, for her many years of excellent editorial assistance. Xenia has had to recently leave the journal for personal reasons. We wish her the best of luck for the future. Replacing Xenia is Sangeeta P.C., who actually started work for Seminars in Thrombosis & Hemostasis from the middle of 2011. I would like to welcome Sangeeta, and thank her for stepping into this role so admirably when required from the middle of last year.

Finally, readers will notice the new publication format of this journal. We hope you like the “STH face-lift.” However, one thing that we will not be changing in Seminars in Thrombosis & Hemostasis is the quality of the material we publish.

Welcome to 2012! Forward and onward.
