Dear Editor,

This case report [1] paradigmatically describes the transition from an acute corneal abrasion to a keratopathic lesion and the difficulty to evaluate unsupervised use of topical anesthetic drops. In this context, some considerations might be added concerning the patientʼs perspective and the post-traumatic utilization of numbing eye drops in general.
