Daniel Rodríguez-Alcalde et al. High incidence of advanced colorectal neoplasia during endoscopic surveillance in serrated polyposis syndrome

Patients with serrated polyposis syndrome (SPS) have an increased risk of colorectal cancer (CRC) and advanced neoplasia. In a multicenter cohort of 152 SPS patients who had undergone a prior clearing colonoscopy, the cumulative incidence of CRC and advanced neoplasia at 3 years was 3.1 % and 42.0 %, respectively, with the presence of an advanced serrated lesion at baseline and fulfillment of both criteria I and III being independent risk factors.
