Zusammenfassung

Somatischer Befund und subjektives Befinden - häufig stimmen sie bei Patienten mit chronischen Krankheiten nicht überein. Um das subjektive Befinden definieren zu können, wurde der Begriff der gesundheitsbezogenen Lebensqualität eingeführt. Die »Lebensqualität« repräsentiert wichtige Bereiche der Selbstwahrnehmung des Patienten: somatische, psychische und soziale Prozesse. Allgemeine und krankheitsspezifische Fragebögen bilden diese Wahrnehmungen als numerische Größen ab und machen sie mathematisch und damit statistisch berechenbar. Die Bestimmung der Lebensqualität in Studien gewinnt aus wissenschaftlichen und gesundheitsökologischen Überlegungen zunehmend an Bedeutung.

Summary

Disease findings and subjective well-being often differ in patients with chronic diseases. The term »health-related quality of life« was introduced to define the subjective well-being of patients. Under »quality of life« several important fields of the patient's self-perception are considered: physical complaints, mental problems and social life. Generic and disease-related questionnaires quantify these perceptions and make them statistically comparable. In medical studies the measurement of the quality of life will be increasingly used to determine scientific and economical effects.
