Zusammenfassung

Der Beitrag bietet einen Rückblick auf das außergewöhnliche Leben der ersten deutschen Professorin für Dermatologie, Asta von Mallinckrodt-Haupt. Am bekanntesten wurden ihre wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten über medizinisch-mykologische Themen. Die Darstellung basiert auf persönlichen Erinnerungen ihrer Tochter und einer ausführlichen Auswertung des wissenschaftlichen Werks.

Abstract

A retrospective on the remarkable life of the female Professor of Dermatology in Germany. She was best known for her studies of fungal diseases of the skin. The article is based on personal recollections of her daughter and a comprehensive study of her scientific work.

  1. Frau Dr. Bertha Ottenstein war bereits 1931, also kurz vor Asta, als erste Frau in Deutschland für das Fach Dermatologie habilitiert worden. Wegen der nationalsozialistischen Verfolgung als Jüdin emigrierte sie 1933 nach Istanbul und später in die USA. Erst spät konnte ihr ein Professorentitel von der Universität Freiburg verleihen werden (1951 als außerplanmäßige, 1956 planmäßige Professur [2]).
