Verhaltensübungen im Elterntraining
Abstract
Zusammenfassung.Theoretischer Hintergrund: Bei Familien mit sozial auffälligen Kindern leiden die Eltern unter einem erhöhten Stressniveau und einer größeren Belastung durch die kindlichen Verhaltensauffälligkeiten. Fragestellung: Überprüfung der differenzierten Wirksamkeit eines Elterntrainings mit Verhaltensübungen, ohne Verhaltensübungen und einer non-direktiven Alternativbehandlung. Methode: Es wurden 62 Eltern von sozial auffälligen Kindern (Alter 5-13 Jahre) zufällig den drei Bedingungen mit dem Ziel einer Reduktion der kindlichen Verhaltensauffälligkeiten und des familiären Stressniveaus zugewiesen. Ergebnisse: Im Elterntraining mit Verhaltensübungen reduzierten sich die kindlichen Verhaltensauffälligkeiten mit mittleren bis großen Effektstärken und das familiäre Stressniveau mit mittlerer Effektstärke. Diese Effekte fielen für das Elterntraining ohne Verhaltensübungen geringer aus. Für die Alternativbehandlung wurden keine bedeutsamen Veränderungen festgestellt. Schlussfolgerung: Besonders die Einübung konkreter Verhaltensweisen im Elterntraining führt die Wirksamkeit herbei.
Abstract.Background: In families with children who have social problems, the parents suffer increased stress as a result of their child’s behavior. Objective: Comparison of the effectiveness of parental training with and without behavior exercises and of an alternative nondirective treatment. Methods: 62 parents of children with social problems (age 5-13 years) were randomly assigned to one of the three conditions. Results: Training with behavior exercises reduces the child’s problematic behavior with middle to large effect sizes and the stress level with a middle effect size. The effects were smaller for the training without behavior exercises. The alternative treatment produced no important changes. Conclusions: Particularly the learning of concrete behavior patterns makes parental training effective.
