Abstract
Abstract. The Memory and Learning Testbattery for Children (MLT-C) is an instrument to assess global and functional disorders of memory and learning in children and adolescents between 6;0 and 16;11. It provides a core battery of eight subtests and six additional subtests. Five scales can be scored: attention/concentration, visual memory, visual learning, auditory memory, and auditory learning. Due individual differences between the children the user gets the opportunity to choose from several different subtests in addition to the core battery. The MLT-C was standardized with 405 children in Germany and Switzerland and the psychometric quality of the items was tested. An at least satisfactory distribition of the specific values p and r(it) was found over the different subtests. The MLT-C can therefore be regarded as an appropriate assessment instrument to measure memory and learning disorders in childhood.
