Zusammenfassung

Periprothetische Infektionen nach Knieprothesenimplantationen stellen schwerwiegende Komplikationen nach künstlichem Gelenkersatz dar und sind mit einer deutlich erhöhten Morbiditäts- und Mortalitätsrate als auch sozioökonomischen Kosten vergesellschaftet. Die erfolgreiche Behandlung der periprothetischen Infektion erfordert ein komplexes Therapieregime, in dem fall- und patientenspezifisch verschiedene chirurgische als auch medizinische Konzepte angewendet werden müssen. Das vorliegende Kapitel stellt ein für den betroffenen Patienten individualisiertes, auf der Grundlage evidenzbasierter Erkenntnisse und Leitlinien beruhendes Gesamtkonzept zur Behandlung periprothetischer Kniegelenkinfektionen dar. Dabei wird im Detail neben der präoperativen Vorbereitung auf prothesenerhaltende Eingriffe (DAIR), auf prothesenersetzende, aber die Kniegelenkfunktion erhaltende Verfahren (einzeitiger, zwei- und mehrzeitiger Wechsel), sowie auf operative Verfahren ohne Prothesenwiedereinbau eingegangen.
