Zusammenfassung
Für eine gute körperliche als auch für eine gute geistige Entwicklung eines Säuglings und Kleinkindes ist die Fürsorge durch Erwachsene absolut unerlässlich. Neben der Körperpflege, Wärme und der ausreichenden Versorgung mit Nahrung ist der adäquate Körperkontakt zum Säugling und Kleinkind ein Schlüsselelement für die artgerechte und gesunde Entwicklung. Dies gilt insbesondere für zu früh geborene Säuglinge. Adäquate soziale Berührungsreize werden vom Säuglingsorganismus in Form von Stressregulation, sozialem Bindungsaufbau sowie in Form neuronaler und körperlicher Wachstums- und Reifungsprozesse verwertet. Fehlen entsprechend adäquate Berührungsreize vollständig oder erfährt der Säugling oder das Kleinkind Berührungsreize nur als Gewalt- oder Schmerzerfahrungen, dann reagiert der Organismus regelhaft mit schweren und irreparablen Entwicklungsstörungen oder er verstirbt.
