Zusammenfassung
Es gibt eine Vielzahl von Muskelerkrankungen mit unterschiedlichen Ursachen. Kausale Therapien stehen bisher in der Regel nicht zur Verfügung. Dargestellt werden krankheitsspezifisch die orthopädischen Probleme am Bewegungsapparat an den oberen und unteren Extremitäten sowie der Wirbelsäule. Zu jedem Krankheitsbild werden die konservativen und operativen Behandlungsmöglichkeiten erörtert. Die wichtigste Gruppe stellen die Dystrophinopathien (Duchenne- und Becker-Kiener-Muskeldystrophie) dar. Im Fokus steht der Erhalt der Geh- und Stehfähigkeit, die Therapie der Skoliose sowie die Frakturbehandlung. Beschrieben werden auch die Probleme bei der Gliedergürtel-Muskeldystrophie, fazioskapulohumeralen und Emery-Dreyfuss-Muskeldystrophie sowie den kongenitalen Muskeldystrophien. Ebenso werden die Besonderheiten der kongenitalen Myopathien und der myotonen Dystrophie erläutert.
