Zusammenfassung
Patienten mit posttraumatischer Belastungsstörung (PTBS), die sexueller, körperlicher oder emotionaler Gewalt in der Kindheit ausgesetzt waren, weisen oft ein breites Spektrum von Beschwerden auf. Häufig handelt es sich dabei um Schwierigkeiten in zwischenmenschlichen Beziehungen und im Bereich der Emotionen. So kann es Betroffenen schwerfallen, Vertrauen aufzubauen, Intimität zuzulassen, mit Kritik durch andere umzugehen oder in angemessener Form für die eigenen Bedürfnisse einzutreten. Nicht selten neigen sie dazu, berufliche oder private Beziehungen abrupt zu beenden, und es kann zu wiederholten Opfererfahrungen kommen. Weiter haben Betroffene oft Schwierigkeiten damit, Emotionen angemessen wahrzunehmen und zu differenzieren. Sie leiden unter starken, negativen emotionalen Reaktionen und haben Schwierigkeiten, die emotionale Balance zu finden. Die Beobachtung, dass diese Beschwerden in demselben Maße zur Belastung von Patienten beitragen und zu ähnlichen Einschränkungen in ihrem Alltag führen wie die PTBS-Symptomatik, bildete den Ausgangspunkt für das hier vorgestellte zweiphasige Behandlungsprogramm.
