Zusammenfassung

Neben den herkömmlichen psychotherapeutischen Verfahren wurden in den letzten Jahrzehnten im internationalen Rahmen weitere Möglichkeiten entwickelt, um traumatisierten Betroffenen zu helfen. In diesem Kapitel werden diese Interventionen als niedrigschwellige Verfahren zusammengefasst, die so definiert sind, dass die Hilfesuchenden sich diese in der Regel außerhalb des etablierten Gesundheitssystems selbst suchen (wobei es auch Überschneidungen mit neueren Ansätzen innerhalb der Gesundheitsversorgung gibt). Damit verbunden ist, dass die Inanspruchnahme einer Intervention nicht vom Vorliegen einer Diagnose abhängig ist. Die Betroffenen können auch sog. subsyndromale Leiden haben (d. h., nicht alle für eine Diagnose nötigen Symptome sind vollständig vorhanden), oder es geht um individuelle Prävention einschließlich einer besseren Verarbeitung des Erlebten.
