Zusammenfassung
Krebserkrankungen und deren begleitende Behandlungen können bei Betroffenen zu kognitiven Beeinträchtigungen und zu emotionaler Überforderung mit unterschiedlicher Intensität und abhängig von der jeweiligen Krankheitsphase führen.
Dieses Kapitel bearbeitet spezifische psychische Belastungen im Kontext einer Krebserkrankung, wie Angst, Progredienzangst, Depressivität und Verzweiflung, sowie die wichtige Rolle der psychoonkologischen Versorgung und Interventionen und der sozialen Unterstützung als Ressource. Weiters wird ein kurzer Ausblick von unterschiedlichen Aspekten in der Nachsorge und psychoonkologischer Betreuung von KrebspatientInnen dargestellt.
