Zusammenfassung
In diesem Kapitel werden Arzneimittel besprochen, die bei Erkrankungen der Atemwege wie Asthma bronchiale, chronisch-obstruktive Atemwegserkrankung (COPT) sowie Husten Verwendung finden. Je nach Verlaufsform werden bei Asthma bronchiale Betasympathomimetika, topische Glucocorticoide, Parasympatholytika oder Leukotrienantagonisten eingesetzt. Zur Behandlung der chronisch-obstruktiven Atemwegserkrankungen werden ähnliche Arzneimittel, z. B. langwirkende Sympathomimetika oder langwirkende Anticholinergika, versucht. Neu sind Hemmer der 5-Lipoxigenase, IgE-Antikörper und IL-5-Antikörper. Keine Neuentwicklungen gibt es zur Behandlung von Husten und nach wie vor können Opioide wie Codein oder Dihydrocodein, eventuell noch Dextrametorphan, verwendet werden. Expektoranz,ien haben nur eine beschränkte Wirksamkeit.
