Zusammenfassung

In kaum einer anatomischen Region liegen Strukturen von vitaler Bedeutung so eng benachbart wie in der Verbindung zwischen Kopf und Körperstamm, dem Hals. Hier verlaufen die Luftröhre und die Speiseröhre ebenso wie die hirnversorgenden Arterien und die großen Jugularvenen. Wegen der komplexen Anatomie und dem ständig drohenden Risiko einer plötzlichen, dramatischen Verschlechterung wird die Behandlung von Halsverletzungen als schwierig angesehen.
