Zusammenfassung

Die Neuropsychologie in der Psychiatrie beschreibt die kognitiven, motivationalen und emotionalen Grundlagen menschlichen Verhaltens und Erlebens. Sie ist ein interdisziplinäres Forschungs- und klinisches Tätigkeitsfeld innerhalb der klinischen Psychologie, die sich der Methoden und der wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse der Psychologie, Psychiatrie, Neurologie, Neuroanatomie und Neurophysiologie bedient. Neben der Entwicklung von Störungsmodellen zur differenzierten Beschreibung psychischer Erkrankungen sind für den Kliniker in der Psychiatrie v. a. folgende Aspekte für die Beschäftigung mit klinischer Neuropsychologie von Bedeutung: Neuropsychologische Funktionsbeeinträchtigungen stellen eine Kernsymptomatik bei einer Vielzahl psychischer Erkrankungen dar; sie sind im Rahmen neuropsychologisch fundierter therapeutischer Ansätze modifizierbar und determinieren wesentlich den Erfolg psychosozialer und beruflicher Wiedereingliederungsbemühungen.
