Internationale Klassifikation der Funktionsfähigkeit, Behinderung und Gesundheit (ICF)

Zusammenfassung

Mit der ICF stehen ein Modell, eine Klassifikation und damit eine konzeptuelle Grundlage für das Verständnis von Funktionsfähigkeit und Behinderung zur Verfügung. Sie hat innerhalb einer Dekade zu einer breiten theoretischen Reflektion geführt und an unterschiedlichen Stellen ihren Einsatz gefunden. Aufgrund ihrer in diesem Kapitel dargestellten faktischen sowie konzeptuellen Bedeutung für die Rehabilitationspraxis und -forschung ist sie mittlerweile ein zentraler Bestandteil in der Ausbildung im Bereich der Physikalischen Medizin und Rehabilitation und unerlässliche Grundlage zur Kommunikation mit anderen Berufsgruppen in der Rehabilitation.

    SGB IX §2, Absatz 1: Menschen sind behindert, wenn ihre körperliche Funktion, geistige Fähigkeit oder seelische Gesundheit mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit länger als sechs Monate von dem für das Lebensalter typischen Zustand abweichen und Daher ihre Teilhabe am Leben in der Gesellschaft beeinträchtigt ist.
