Zusammenfassung
Intensivpatienten haben unabhängig von ihrer Grundkrankheit viele körperliche Einschränkungen beginnend bei der Muskelatrophie bis zur sensomotorischen Deprivation, sowie Dekonditionierung und Einschränkung der Gelenksbeweglichkeit, welche primär durch physikalisch-rehabilitative Maßnahmen zu behandeln sind. Insofern stellt die Physikalische Medizin und Rehabilitation in Hinblick auf die Wiedererlangung der Funktionsfähigkeit einen wichtigen Behandlungsschritt in der Betreuung intensivmedizinischer Patienten dar. Primäres Ziel ist es funktionseinschränkende Folgezustände durch eine frühe Intervention zu vermeiden.
