Zusammenfassung

Das Hämorrhoidalleiden ist nach wie vor das häufigste Leiden im proktologischen Bereich mit zirka 2 Mio. betroffenen Patienten in Deutschland. Entsprechend häufig werden Patienten beim Hausarzt, in den Ambulanzen und beim Proktologen vorstellig. Das Kapitel soll strukturiert die anatomischen und (patho-)physiologischen Grundlagen beleuchten und die Diagnostik der Hämorrhoiden darstellen. Nach ausführlicher Darstellung der Differenzialdiagnosen sollen aber auch die Komplikationen der Hämorrhoiden u. a. mit Blickwinkel auf das Kindesalter und die Gravidität sowie postoperative Gegebenheiten dargestellt werden.
