Zusammenfassung

Als Stuhlkontinenz wird die Fähigkeit bezeichnet, Ort, Zeitpunkt und Umstände der Darmentleerung willkürlich bestim men und steuern zu können (Löhnert 2009). Dementsprechend handelt es sich bei Inkontinenz um eine mangelnde Kontrolle der Entleerung des Darmes, also der Unfähigkeit, spontanen Stuhl- oder Windabgang zu unterdrücken oder zu kontrollieren (Thiede u. Sailer 1996).
