Zusammenfassung

Sexueller Mißbrauch ist ein Problem von großer individueller und sozialer Bedeutung. Nach repräsentativen Untersuchungen der Bevölkerung läßt sich die Häufigkeit (Lebenszeitprävalenz) von sexuellem Mißbrauch bei Frauen zwischen 13.5% und 44% schätzen (Kilpatrick et al., 1985, 1992; Koss et al., 1987). Sexueller Mißbrauch beeinflußt sowohl das körperliche als auch das psychische Gleichgewicht von Opfern, wie man an der nachfolgend erhöhten Nutzung von medizinischen und psychiatrischen Diensten ablesen kann (Golding et al., 1988; Koss et al., 1988).
