Zusammenfassung
Nach einem traumatischen Erlebnis entwickeln die meisten Personen für einige Zeit Symptome der posttraumatischen Belastungsstörung, jedoch gesunden viele im Laufe der nächsten Monate auch ohne professionelle Hilfe. Bei einer Untergruppe kommt es zu einem chronischen Verlauf. In diesem Kapitel soll ein kognitives Modell der Aufrechterhaltung posttraumatischer Symptome beschrieben werden, das als Grundlage kognitiver Interventionen dienen soll.
