Zusammenfassung
Verfahren, die an die moderne Technik des Gedankenstopps erinnern, sind schon seit langem bekannt, weil Menschen schon immer versucht haben, sich gegen unerwünschte, immer wiederkehrende, unangenehme Gedanken zu wehren. Es gibt eine Reihe von Varianten der ursprünglichen, in den 50er Jahren entwickelten Gedankenstopptechnik. Grundsätzlich wird versucht, in dem Moment, wenn ein unerwünschter Gedanke auftritt, durch die Vorstellung oder durch das Vorsprechen des Wortes „stopp“ den störenden Gedanken zu unterdrücken.
