Zusammenfassung
Bioökonomie eröffnet neue Verwendungsmöglichkeiten für einige Materialien und Stoffe, die traditionell als Abfall behandelt wurden. Dazu gehören landwirtschaftliche Nebenprodukte, die bereits in beträchtlichem Umfang für die stoffliche oder energetische Nutzung verwendet werden. Die Weiterverwendung der landwirtschaftlichen Reststoffe unterstützt die Idee einer nachhaltigen und zirkularen Ökonomie. Die Herausforderungen liegen in der Sicherheit der Rohstoffversorgung und Gestaltung des Logistiksystems, was die Nutzung der Biomasse zur Energiegewinnung stimulieren kann. Um das volle Potenzial der Bioenergie zu realisieren, ist eine stärkere Internationalisierung der Wertschöpfung sowie die Entwicklung alternativer Biomasseversorgungsketten (Supply Chains) mit neuen Beschaffungsquellen und neuen Rohstoffen notwendig. Die nachhaltige Erzeugung und der Transport der Biomasse sind dabei unabdingbar. Das Ziel dieses Beitrags ist, die Biomasse-Supply-Chain zu untersuchen und ihre Rolle in der zirkularen Ökonomie einzuordnen. Hohe Logistikkosten sind eines der Hindernisse bei der weit verbreiteten Nutzung von Biomasse zur Energie- und Kraftstofferzeugung. Daher ist die Verbesserung und Optimierung der Biomasselogistik für die Überwindung dieser Barriere von entscheidender Bedeutung. Die Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten werden in diesem Artikel diskutiert.
