Zusammenfassung

Die Messung der Leistungsfähigkeit (oder Performance) eines öffentlichen Sektors, in diesem Fall des Gesundheitssektors, sowie die Einordnung in einen internationalen Kontext stellt von jeher eine wichtige Arbeit aufgrund des nicht unbeträchtlichen Mitteleinsatzes, aber auch eine Herausforderung an Wissenschaft und Forschung dar. Gründe dafür finden sich einerseits in der großen Komplexität von Gesundheitssystemen sowie der Vielzahl der länderspezifisch unterschiedlichen Ausgestaltungen und der verschieden einflussreichen Stakeholder.
