Zusammenfassung

Bei chronischen Krankheiten und endokrinologischen Störungen ist der Erfolg der Langzeitbehandlung vor allem davon abhängig, wie es den Familien auf Dauer gelingt, die Therapie und weitere Belastungen durch körperliche Besonderheiten in den Alltag zu integrieren und mit den allgemeinen Erziehungsaufgaben zu vereinbaren. Deshalb ist die umfassende und praxisorientierte Information der Eltern und altersadäquat auch der Kinder und Jugendlichen unverzichtbar. Dabei sollten neben der somatischen Therapie auch die krankheitsbedingten psychosozialen Belastungen und der kognitive und soziale Entwicklungsstand der betroffenen Kinder und Jugendlichen berücksichtigt werden (Dimatteo 2004; Scheidt-Nave et al. 2008; Taylor et al. 2008)
