Der Grundbaustein des menschlichen Körpers ist die einzelne Zelle, von denen er etwa 75–100×1012 (75–100 Billionen) besitzt. Davon sind 25×1012 rote Blutkörperchen (Erythrozyten). Sie sind der am häufigsten vorkommende Zelltyp des Körpers.
