Nach Diagnose eines Gestationsdiabetes (GDM) hat der betreuende Frauenarzt für eine sofortige Weiterüberweisung in eine ambulante Diabetes-Schwerpunkteinrichtung Sorge zu tragen. Zeitverzögerungen zwischen Diagnose eines GDM und Behandlungsbeginn sind unbedingt zu vermeiden. Mehr als 95% aller Schwangeren, die in der Frauenarztpraxis die Diagnose eines GDM erhalten, stellen sich in einer Diabetes-Schwerpunkteinrichtung vor.
