Abstract

Increased knowledge of the molecular biology of soft tissue tumors has led to the identification of a growing number of biomarkers that are useful not only for diagnostic purposes (where a single biomarker but more often a set of them are essential to make the correct diagnosis) but also to better define the biological behavior of the tumor (improving the risk stratification of patients) and to identify patients who can benefit of target therapies (drug sensitivity biomarkers).
