Ultrasound for Interventional Pain Management

Abstract

Sacroiliac joint (SIJ) and sacral lateral branch (SLB) blocks are used for the management of SIJ and posterior complex pain, respectively. If an eventual SLB radiofrequency ablation procedure is being contemplated, a SLB block may be preferable to an SIJ block. In this chapter we review both procedures and provide a detailed description of the ultrasound-guided approaches.
