Die UEG stellt sich vor
Die DGVS ist als Nationale Deutsche Gastroenterologie Gesellschaft Mitglied der United European Gastroenterology (UEG). Als eine von 49 nationalen Gesellschaften ist Deutschland im National Societies Forum der UEG vertreten, das wiederum Delegierte zum „Meeting of Members“ (MoM), dem Parlament der UEG, entsendet ([Abb. 1]). Von hier aus werden Delegierte zum Rat (Council), der Regierung der UEG, entsandt. Den Vorsitz im Rat führt das „Executive Committee“ (ExCom), das aus dem Präsidenten, dem Vizepräsidenten (President elect), dem Generalsekretär und dem Schatzmeister besteht. Sie alle werden vom MoM gewählt. Der andere Weg in den Rat führt über eine der 17 europäischen Fachgesellschaften wie EASL, EDS, EPC, ESGE, ESNM, um nur einige zu nennen, die auch Delegierte ins MoM und wiederum in den Rat entsenden. Das MoM stimmt über die Vorsitzenden von fünf Ausschüssen und drei Gruppen ab: Scientific, Education, Quality-of-Care, Research, und National Societies Committee sowie die Gruppen für Public Affairs, Equality & Diversity und, last but not least, die Young talent group ([Abb. 1]). Alle Ausschüsse sind mit Delegierten besetzt, die von den ordentlichen Mitgliedsgesellschaften entsandt werden. Mitglieder der drei Gruppen werden durch Empfehlungen und/oder Vorschläge der Gruppe selbst rekrutiert.
