Zusammenfassung

Ein assistierter Suizid hat emotionale Einflüsse auf professionell Helfende. Das zugrunde liegende Dilemma ist häufig das Spannungsfeld zwischen dem Respekt der Autonomie des Betreuten und den persönlichen, sozialen, moralischen, gesellschaftlichen und professionellen Verantwortlichkeiten. Die Auswirkungen auf das Erleben der Assistierenden gehen von einem zufriedenstellenden Gefühl über eine möglichst neutrale Haltung bis hin zu starken emotionalen Belastungen mit vielschichtigen Unsicherheiten. Es braucht interprofessionelle Teams als fachliche und soziale Ressource sowie formellen Support für im beruflichen Kontext Unterstützende, wahrgenommen als Teil der organisationalen Verantwortung.
