Dieses Kapitel gibt einen Überblick über relevante intensivmedizinische Aspekte von onkologischen und hämatologischen Erkrankungen. Neben den onkologischen Notfallsituationen wie Tumorlysesyndrom, Hyperleutkozytose, oberer Einflussstauung oder Trachealkompression bei Mediastinaltumor und Hinrdruck oder Myelonkompression werden das intensivmedizinische Vorgehen bei Sichelzellanämie oder autoimmunhämolytischen Anämien sowie die hämophaygozytierende Lymphohistiozytose abgehandelt.
