Geschichte der Histopathologie

Zusammenfassung

Paris war ohne jeden Zweifel in der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts das Weltzentrum der Medizin.1 Das neue Denken in der Medizin, die „Philosophie der Beobachtung“ kommt mit dem Sturm der französischen Revolution von 1789 zum Durchbruch. Der erste herausragende Vertreter dieses neuen Denkens ist Pierre Jean George Cabanis (1757–1808). Er reformiert die medizinische Lehre und das Krankenhauswesen. Die Sinneseindrücke des Arztes bei der Krankenuntersuchung stehen für ihn im Zentrum (1804): „Du moment que nous sentons, nous sommes“.2 Seine Forderung nach praktischem Unterricht am Krankenbett könnte heute geschrieben sein: „Ce n’est pas dans les livres, mais au lit du malade, que se fait l’apprentissage véritable du jeune médecin“.
