Zusammenfassung

Slow-transit-Obstipation und Outlet-Obstruktion stellen die 2 wesentlichen Arten der chronischen Obstipation dar. Der Pathomechanismus ist sehr komplex, und nicht selten treten beide Ausprägungen bei ein- und derselben Person überlappend auf. In Europa leiden bis zu 15 % der Bevölkerung an chronischer Obstipation. Gerade weil diese Erkrankung mit hohem Leidensdruck verbunden ist, muss großer Wert auf eine gründliche diagnostische Abklärung und Einleitung der entsprechenden Therapie gelegt werden.
