Schizophrenie und somatische Komorbiditäten

Zusammenfassung

Patienten mit Schizophrenie leiden häufiger an körperlichen Erkrankungen und haben auch eine geringere Lebenserwartung. Die Körperlichen Erkranken bei Schizophrenie ziehen sich über ein breites Spektrum: metabolisches Syndrom, Diabetes mellitus, kardiale Herzkrankheit, polyzystisches Ovarsyndrom, Knochenbrüche und schlechterer Zahnstatus. Hinsichtlich der rheumatoiden Arthritis dürfte aber ein „Schutz“ bestehen. Bezüglich der ätiologischen Faktoren wird von der Vulnerabilität, dem Lifestyle, Medikamenten und anderen psychotropen Substanzen ebenfalls eine breite Palette diskutiert. Insbesondere hinsichtlich des Immunsystems dürfte es hier vielversprechende neue Ansätze geben. Jedenfalls erscheint es wichtig, die somatischen Komorbiditäten der Schizophrenie in die Behandlungskonzepte mit einzubeziehen, um für diese Patientengruppe ein besseres Behandlungs- und Therapieangebot stellen zu können.
