Zusammenfassung

168 Patienten zwischen dem 10. und dem 20. Lebensjahr wurden einer Studie bezüglich des Fortschreitens ihrer Myopie unterzogen. Daraus resultierte deutlich, dass die Progression der Myopie bei Brillenträgern wesentlich stärker ist als bei Trägern harter Kontaktlinsen. Die harte Kontaktlinse ist auch oft imstande, die Progression der Myopie überhaupt zu stoppen.

Summary

In a study on the progression of myopia 168 patients between 10 and 20 years of age were examined. It was found that myopia progresses much more rapidly in wearers of glasses than in wearers of hard contact lenses. Hard contact lenses are often able to halt the progression of myopia completely.
