Abstract
Three cases of life-threatening courses of sepsis in the puerperium are presented. In the first case a toxic shock syndrome originated from a superinfected episiotomy. The second patient developed puerperal sepsis following streptococcal infection after Caesarian section. The third patient presented the syndrome of puerperal ovarian vein thrombophlebitis after uncomplicated vaginal delivery. Symptoms, diagnosis and treatment are discussed.
