Die Langzeitergebnisse nach Herz-Kreislauf-Stillstand außerhalb der Klinik sind nach wie vor schlecht. Mehrere Studien haben eine überschießende Aktivierung von Gerinnungsfaktoren und anschließende Hyperfibrinolyse, wie sie von einer disseminierten intravasalen Gerinnung (DIC) bekannt sind, mit den Überlebensraten nach kardiopulmonaler Reanimation in Zusammenhang gebracht. Für die neurologischen Outcomes haben das nun Ono et al. untersucht.
