Madhav Desai et al. Post-endoscopy Barrett’s neoplasia after a negative index endoscopy: a systematic review and proposal for definitions and performance measures in endoscopy

This systematic review demonstrates that neoplasia detected at or within 6 months of index endoscopy accounts for most cases of Barrett’s neoplasia (> 90 %), while post-endoscopy Barrett’s neoplasia accounts for ~3 % of cases. It is therefore important to implement measures to establish standards of endoscopy for Barrett's esophagus-related neoplasia and establish a performance index for endoscopists.
