PROCHORN – Prospektives Register von Patientinnen mit Aderhautnävi

Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Obwohl bekannt ist, dass Aderhautmelanome sich aus benignen choroidalen Nävi entwickeln können, gibt es in Österreich bisher kein Screeningprogramm für melanozytäre Läsionen der Aderhaut.
Die Datenlage zu demografischen und klinischen Faktoren im Hinblick auf die österreichische Bevölkerung ist mangelhaft, ein Register, in dem betroffene Patienten erfasst werden, ist nicht vorhanden.

Methode und Patienten

Ziel der Studie ist der Aufbau eines prospektiven Registers zur Erfassung und Verlaufskontrolle demografischer und klinischer Daten von Patienten mit choroidalen Nävi und unbestimmten melanozytären Läsionen der Aderhaut.

Resultate

Sowohl die große Anzahl an Teilnehmern, wie auch ein über etliche Jahre blickender Beobachtungshorizont erlauben eine eingehende Untersuchung des natürlichen Verlaufs von Aderhautnävi und melanomverdächtigen unbestimmten choroidalen melanozytären Läsionen.
Besonderes Augenmerk wird auf die Erhebung von Risikofaktoren zur Vorhersage der Größenzunahme, malignen Transformation und Behandlungsnotwendigkeit gelegt.
Ebenso dient das Register der Aufnahme von Informationen zur ophthalmologischen Versorgung von Patienten mit choroidalen Nävi und unbestimmten melanozytären Läsionen der Aderhaut.

Schlussfolgerung

Das Projekt PROCHORN untersucht Risiken für die Entstehung von Aderhautmelanomen und leistet einen Beitrag zur Beantwortung der Frage nach der gesundheitspolitischen Sinnhaftigkeit eines flächendeckenden Nävusscreenings im Rahmen augenärztlicher Untersuchungen in Österreich.
