Oxidativer Stress bei Mastersschwimmern nach hochintensivem (Intervall-) Training (HI(I)T)

Zusammenfassung

Erhöhter oxidativer Stress (OS) kann langfristig die Bildung von Krankheiten begünstigen, aber kurzfristig auch Trigger für zelluläre Anpassungen sein. Ziel war zu untersuchen, ob ein 3‑monatiges High-Intensity-(Interval-)Training (HI(I)T) die Bildung von OS bei 24 leistungsorientierten Mastersschwimmern/-innen (22–67 Jahre) vor (= basal) und nach einer Maximalbelastung (Stufentest beim Schwimmen jeweils bis zur Ausbelastung) beeinflusst. Die Veränderungen wurden in der Gesamtgruppe, sowie differenziert nach Geschlecht und Alter (unter 50 Jahre (U50), über 50 Jahre (Ü50)), analysiert. Signifikante Zunahmen von OS konnten vom Basalwert zum Belastungswert vor HI(I)T in der Gesamtgruppe und in der Subgruppenanalyse bei den Ü50-Jährigen beobachtet werden. Außerdem zeigten sich signifikante Zunahmen des Basalwertes nach der HI(I)T-Intervention in der Gesamtgruppe, die sich in der Subgruppenanalyse aber nur signifikant bei den Männern bestätigen ließ. Die Frauen und die U50-Jährigen zeigten alleine betrachtet keine signifikanten Veränderungen in den OS Werten. Die Reaktion bei Mastersschwimmern/innen auf HI(I)T ist alters- und geschlechtsdifferent.
