Zusammenfassung

In der Kinder- und Jugendheilkunde nimmt effiziente Schmerztherapie, die zugleich anxiolytische Potenz besitzt, eine Schlüsselposition ein. Eine gasförmige Medikamentenkombination aus 50 % Distickstoffmonoxid und 50 % Sauerstoff, im deutschsprachigen Raum unter dem Handelsnamen Livopan® erhältlich, stellt eine alternative Möglichkeit zur Sedoanalgesie bei mitarbeitsfähigen Kindern dar. Das Indikationsspektrum umfasst kleinere Eingriffe mit leichtem bis mäßigem Schmerzcharakter. Der Applikationsmodus per Gesichtsmaske und Demand-Ventil bedingt die Empfehlung, das N2O/O2-Therapiepaket frühestens bei Kindern ab dem vollendeten dritten Lebensjahr einzusetzen. In unserer Anwendungsbeobachtung wurde bei 79 analysierten Anwendungen in 91,1 % eine ausreichende Sedoanalgesie erzielt, wobei die Livopan®-Applikation in 9,7 % mit zusätzlichen Substanzen kombiniert wurde. In 3,8 % der Fälle erwies sich das N2O/O2-Gemisch als ineffektiv. Unmittelbar auftretende Nebenwirkungen waren als geringfügig einzustufen. Der Vorteil dieser inhalativen Therapieoption besteht darin, dass die Applikation selbst schmerzfrei ist, der Nachteil in der erforderlichen Patientenakzeptanz und -kooperation.
