2020, Fish and Shellfish ImmunologyCitation Excerpt :PmItgb was a highly conserved protein with the typical architecture of Itgb proteins: Integrin beta subunits domain, VWA domain, and Epidermal growth factor-like domain (EGF). Among them, the VWA domain can participate in the formation of multiprotein complexes, proteins that incorporate VWA domains participate in cell adhesion, migration, homing, pattern formation, and signal transduction, and the domain adopts a classic alpha/beta Rossmann fold and contains a general metal ion-dependent adhesion site (MIDAS) for interaction with a large array of ligands [26,27]. It can bind conservatively to ligands containing Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) motifs.
