Management of Conjunctival Bleb Leaks
2017, Advances in Ophthalmology and OptometryCitation Excerpt :Despite these significant postoperative complications, few studies exist that provide concrete data regarding the common techniques for managing early bleb leaks, such as pressure patching, contact lens wear, ointment use, and aqueous suppression. However, 1 study analyzing the efficacy of autologous fibrin tissue glue noted a 17% success rate for pressure patching [11]. Other conservative measures include in-office cryotherapy, cautery, and trichloroacetic acid to help scar the wound edges together around the area of bleb leak [12].
